Centrepoint
Tel: 4428-9141

Centrepoint, also known as Al Asmakh Mall, is located near the Sports Roundabout on Al Defal Street. Babyshop has children’s toys for all ages, playhouses, cots, beds and clothing. Nearby you’ll find Splash, with very reasonably priced clothes, and Shoe Mart with a broad selection for children and adults. Home Centre has a good range of furniture and takes up a large portion of the top floor. Opposite Home Centre is a small children’s play area called Fun City, which is a great distraction for bored kids and tired parents. There is also an optician where you can buy sunglasses, and a small electronics shop selling well known brand names. As with other malls, there are some fast food restaurants. There is street and underground parking, which is well illuminated with easy access to the mall. Centrepoint also has another branch at the new Barwa Village near Wakra.

City Center Doha
Tel: 4483-9990

Situated in the Diplomatic District of West Bay (also known as the ‘New Business District’), City Center Doha is one of the best known landmarks in Doha. One of the largest shopping complexes in the Middle East, with 350 shops, from Debenhams to the Family Development Centre (top floor, selling local crafts), you could spend an entire day in this mall and still not get to experience everything it has to offer. With its well-lit and spacious interior, the centre is welcoming for the whole family. There are three levels selling a variety of international and local merchandise. There are numerous cafés scattered throughout the mall should you need to take a break. There are also plenty of ways to entertain kids within the mall – an ice rink and a bowling alley on the basement level, and Fun City (children’s entertainment centre) on level three. Besides a 14-screen multiplex cinema, there is also a ballroom and function hall, as well as a comprehensive business centre. City Center Doha is open from 10 am to 10 pm Saturdays to Thursdays, and from 2 pm to 10 pm on Fridays.

Hyatt Plaza
Tel: 4469-4848

Located on Al Waab Street, this mall has a limited selection of shops and boutiques, but the big furniture shop Homes R Us is popular. Giant supermarket is also located within the centre. There is a smattering of high-street brands including The Body Shop and Mothercare, as well as Paris Gallery. There is a large food court situated next to the children’s play area, with a fair selection of food outlets. To keep the children amuse, there is Jungle Zone, a mini version of a theme park with a soft version of a rollercoaster as well as eight other attractions.
